This four-week elective is open to fourth-year medical students going into Family Medicine from an accredited allopathic or osteopathic medical school.
July 1 - July 28, 2024: outpatient only
July 29 - August 25, 2024: outpatient only
August 26 - September 22, 2024: outpatient only
September 23 - October 20, 2024: outpatient only
October 21 - November 17, 2024: combination of outpatient and inpatient
November 18 - December 15, 2024: combination of outpatient and inpatient
December 16, 2024 - January 12, 2025: combination of outpatient and inpatient

Course Goals & Objectives
Develop skills to multi-task and prioritize patient care.
Learn to diagnose and manage chronic and acute conditions.
Improve ability to assess undifferentiated patients.
Obtain problem-focused history and physical examination,
Present history and physical in a concise & orderly manner.
Develop an appropriate differential diagnosis.
Interpret results of common diagnostics and tests.
Develop an evaluation and management plan.
Perform basic procedural skills.
Communicate effectively and professionally with patients and staff.

Medical Students must submit their application in its entirety through VSLO. Our program can be found under Kaiser SCAL – San Diego.

family medicine clerkship
(third year students)
This four week clerkship is open to all third year medical students from an an accredited allopathic or osteopathic medical school.
Clerkships are offered February - June.
